民国成立后，铜元仍继续大量流通使用。1914年，铜元正式改称“铜币”，民国发行的铜币与清最大的区别是龙纹被换成了由稻穗组成的嘉禾纹。各省铸造的铜元大多为两面叉的国旗图案，并有“开国纪念币”或“中华民国铜币”字样。

1911年辛亥革命胜利后，清帝退位，中华民国成立。中国民主主义革命的先驱者孙中山就任中华民国临时大总统，并在颁布的“临时大总统令”中提出要“另刊新模，鼓铸纪念币”，随后武昌和南京两处造币厂率先铸行了“中华民国开国纪念币”铜元辅币，以十文面值的为主，在全国大量发行以取代清朝铜元。这就是“中华民国开国纪念币”铜元的由来。毋庸置疑，这种铜元的币名很明确，就是“中华民国开国纪念币”。根据钱币收藏界的一般共识，对一种钱币，应该把可以明确币名或显示钱币最主要特征的一面称为“面”，而把其相对的另一面称为“背”，据此我们应该把此币最能区别于前朝铜元,并具有鲜明的划时代革命和进步意义的有“中华民国开国纪念币”（以下简称开国纪念币）字样的一面称为面，而把其对应记值的另一面称为背，所有的双旗币都定意为开国币，五百文的面值极大极为罕见。

双旗币产生于民国时期，民国在中国上仅仅存在了几十年的时间，这几十年时间里中国内外战乱不断，因此，在兵荒马乱的年代，钱币在经历了无穷的岁月之后，依然可以完整地保留下来，实属不易。保存完好，钱文、图案清晰，流通痕迹明显，包浆自然，铜色透亮。

正面呈双圈，外圈上置楷书‘中华民国’四字，下置500CASH币值，左右各一花卉纹，内圈双旗一边的青天白日旗的外形采用了树叶状，另一面的五色条旗上外形可能受到当时军阀纪念币的影响而变得考究起来了：呈波浪状中间无线条，双旗交叉处顶置五角星。

反面呈双圈，外圈回形纹，内圈中置楷书五百文面值，稻穗组成的嘉禾纹，表面包浆使得钱币如有穿上一层外衣保护着钱币，有包浆的钱币几乎不再氧化能更好的收藏保存，而且目前包浆是无法仿制的，也是鉴定新老钱币的捷径。

嘉禾”，美禾，茁壮之禾，硕大之禾，祥瑞之禾也。东汉许慎《说文》云：“禾，嘉谷也。以二月而种，八月始熟，得时之中，故谓之禾。”王充《论衡·讲瑞篇》云：“嘉禾生于禾中，与禾中异穗，谓之嘉禾。”古人多以“嘉禾”为祥瑞之物，与甘露醴泉并称。如班固《汉书·公孙弘传》云：“甘露降，风雨时，嘉禾兴。”也就是生长得特别茁壮的禾稻，古人视嘉禾图案为吉祥的象征。

在中国钱币上就有嘉禾图案，现在国徽上就有，最典型的嘉禾纹样就是“袁大头”上的背后的嘉禾图案。

双旗币极其稀缺，大家都知道民国多年抗战，战争中需要大量的子弹，而制作子弹最好的材料就是民国时期的铜币，从而导致大量民国铜币被毁制作成弹壳，使目前的双旗币极为稀少

光绪元宝是清朝光绪年间流通的货币之一。由湖北两广总督张之洞率先引进英国铸币机器铸造银元和铜元，之后各省纷纷仿效。共有十九个省局铸造，除中央户部，地方省所铸铜元，皆在其正面上缘镌写省名。

光绪元宝是大清光绪年流通大面值货币之首，是我国首批引进海外技术的印发流通货币，对于现今也蕴藏了一定历史意义。广东省造光绪元宝在中国近代机器铸币史上属一个大系列，其铸期历时甚长（从光绪22年—光绪34年[1896至1908年]），历经十余载，币模几经更替，即使同一铸造年份亦往往由于修模、币材、工艺技术、工厂管理等诸多因素，造成版别异常繁杂。

浙江省造光绪元宝当十铜元，铜质，正面珠圈内“光绪元宝”四字直读，圈外上为“浙江省造”四字，下为“当十”二字，左右为满文宝浙局。中心是一朵梅花。这枚钱币包浆自然，底光柔和，所谓包浆是自然形成的氧化层，也有人为手盘包浆，两者不同，但同时都有保护钱币的功能，有如给钱币镀上一层保护膜，使钱币不再氧化，便于收藏传世，如果觉得钱币脏，可以用清水洗，再用棉布擦干，不要破坏包浆，破坏了包浆就相当于破坏了保护层，更重要的是包浆是鉴定新老钱币最简单有效的方法。细看这枚钱币品相完美，没有磕缺，损毁，变形等是不可多的收藏级铜币，建议收藏，传世。

背面珠圈内为火龙，中间蟠龙置于云端之中，气势磅礴，威武雄壮，栩栩如生，龙眼炯炯有神。钱币正面由清末著名书法家陶浚(音)宣所书，是北碑书体，此体极为稀少，现留存于世此种钱币更是罕见。铜制精良，形制规整，包浆醇厚，具有极高的艺术收藏价值。

此币以镜面版底精铸，图案雕刻极尽精美，丝绸般光洁版底，温润铜光极佳，状态之完美堪称中国铜元之最高境界，无疑为中国铜元最珍稀的品种，浙江省铜元局于光绪二十七年(1901)二月申请开制当十、当五铜元，光绪二十八年经上海瑞生洋行向英国伯明翰造币厂购得造币机器，于光绪二十九年正月正式在杭州旧军装局内开制铜元。先生在《伯明翰造币厂史》一书中，即有伯明翰造币厂于1902年供应造币机器给浙江杭州造币厂的记载，当时也附上了银圆冲模(浙江楷书)。书中第117页有伯明翰厂留存的样币图片，与拍品版式完全相同，而与浙江水龙流通版有所差异。据考，浙江铜元模具应是由英国著名雕刻师艾伦?韦恩(AllanWyon)设计，而同年又接获湖北省的订单，因浙江与湖北两厂所要求的开制时间非常紧迫，所以，艾伦·韦恩极有可能将已经设计好的“浙江当十水龙”龙模配上新设计的湖北当十币面，与流通版完全一样，应该就是它们的直接祖先。而此版浙江当十，应可算是流通版的始祖。

专家以为，“浙江省造光绪元宝”保藏价值难以估计，是古玩保藏商场的新宠。此枚浙江省造光绪元宝当十具有很高的收藏和投资价值，有明显历史年代的沉积，不难看出它明显的历史过渡性特征，该枚钱币虽然历经沧桑，但纹路依然隐约可见，有着难以言表的收藏投资价值。

宝苏局机构名。清代江苏省钱局所铸之钱，代字为“宝苏”，其铸钱局称宝苏局。从康熙到光绪都有铸钱，按定制，宝苏局令江苏按察使司总理，于佐杂人员中委派正副监督各一员、协理官二员总领局务。宝苏局设炉十六座，每月额铸两卯，四季各加铸一卯，共岁额铸钱二十八卯，遇闰月另行加铸。每卯除耗，净铸铜铅两万九千九百五十二斤，报铸钱三千九百九十三串零。

咸丰年间正值太平天国革命运动的高潮时期。此时民怨沸腾，清政府财政拮据，国库亏空．在钱币铸造上大做文章，将财政危机转嫁到老百姓身上。相继铸造“咸丰通宝”、“咸丰重宝”、“咸丰元宝”等种类繁多的钱币。由于太平天国革命运动的发生，和鸦片战争的爆发，钱局铸造制钱已很难正常进行，很多省的钱局实际上处于停铸状态。

此后各地太平军连捷，加上鸦片战争的影响，清军政府军费开支大增，而各项税收大减，导致财政拮据，国库亏空。为了筹款镇压太平军，缓解财政危机，清政府被迫于咸丰三年开铸大钱。“咸丰重宝”始铸当十大钱，继而又开铸当五十、当百和当百以上，并令全国各省迅速铸造推行。“咸丰重宝”铸行情况十分混乱复杂。为了能迅速推行大钱，咸丰铸钱局数量上比前朝又有增加，已停铸的钱局纷纷恢复铸行。咸丰大钱的钱文书法，各局自成体系，差异明显。
